BeginnerSoy Sauce PowderWhite Vinegar Powder

When we use soy sauce powder instead of soy sauce in this teriyaki marinade we remove all water from the mix, which means more concentrated flavors. Simply thinly slice against the grain, marinade, and then dehydrate for a protein-packed snack on the go.

Ingredients

  • 1362g (3 lbs) Flank Steak
  • 60g (6 tbsp) Soy Sauce Powder
  • 12g (4 tsp) White Vinegar Powder
  • 12g (4 tsp) Neutral Flavored Oil
  • 1g  (¼ tsp) Sesame Oil
  • 60g (¼ cup) Water
  • 10g (2 tsp) Honey
  • 2g (1 tsp) Onion Powder
  • 2g (1 tsp) Garlic Powder
  • 1g (½ tsp) Ginger Powder

Equipment

  • Dehydrator

Timing

Active Time: 30 Minutes

Total Time: 17 Hours

Yield

1 Pound

  • Prepare Meat

Slice the flank steak against the grain between ⅛ and ¼ inch.

Mix together the soy sauce powder, white vinegar powder, neutral flavored oil, sesame oil, water, honey, onion powder, garlic powder, and ginger powder.

Place the steak in a zip top bag and add the marinade. Allow the steak to marinate for 8 hours.

  • Dehydrate Meat

Remove the steak and place it evenly on the trays of a dehydrator.

Set the dehydrator to 140F and dehydrate for 6-8 hours.

Remove the jerky from the trays and place them in a new zip top bag and store in a cool dry place.
