Quickest thing to do is use your favorite dinner roll recipe and add a small amount of diastatic malt powder to it, it will improve any dinner roll recipe.

I’m new to bread making. Have bought purchased a pkg of Diastatic Malt Powder. Is this used to make starter for making home.made bread? Or do you just add it to the flour of the recipe? Any help would .be appreciated. I’d love to have a good recipe for Bauernbrot, (German Farmer’s Bread) if you can help. Thanks in advance!

I have a high sugar bread recipe which of the two diastatic more powders would be the better choice?

With high sugar content you don’t really need diastatic malt powder unless you are looking to soften the crust. In that case you will need the Diastatic malt powder rather than the non diastatic malt powder.

Watching you make those beautiful donuts reminded me of the best donuts in the world that come out of Portland, Maine. They use a combination of mashed potatoes and flour and they are spectacular. Do you have a recipe for potato donuts?
